1. Information We Collect
To provide and enhance our services, we collect certain types of information, especially when you engage with features requiring user authentication or payment:
- Google Account Information: When you choose to log in or create an account using Google Authentication, we receive your Google Account ID, email address, and basic profile information (such as your name and profile picture). This data is essential for creating and managing your user account, enabling secure login, and personalizing your experience within the App.
- Correspondence: If you contact us directly for support or inquiries, we may retain records of that correspondence.
- Transaction Data: For purchases made through Google Play (e.g., for private number services), Google handles all sensitive payment processing. We do not directly collect or store your financial details, such as credit card numbers. However, we receive confirmation of your transaction, including transaction IDs and purchase amounts, to validate your service access and maintain your purchase history.
- Usage and Technical Data: We automatically collect non-personal technical data related to your device and your interactions with the App. This includes your device ID, advertising ID, IP address, general location derived from IP (not precise GPS), app usage statistics, feature engagement, and crash reports. This data helps us understand how the App is used, improve performance, and deliver relevant advertisements.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is utilized to operate, maintain, and improve the services offered by OpenSMS:
- To provide seamless access to and functionality of both our public and private number services.
- To establish and manage your user account, facilitating secure login via Google Authentication.
- To process your purchases for private number services and manage your subscribed access.
- To communicate important updates regarding your account, transactions, service changes, and support inquiries.
- To analyze App usage patterns, monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- To display relevant and personalized advertisements within the App.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraudulent activities, security breaches, and other harmful or unauthorized uses of the App.
3. Public Phone Numbers and SMS Messages
A core feature of our App provides access to virtual or publicly accessible phone numbers where received SMS messages are visible to all users. Please be aware of the following:
- These numbers are provided by us for general public interaction and communal viewing of SMS.
- All SMS messages sent to these public numbers are inherently public and will be automatically displayed in real-time within the App.
- Any SMS sent to one of the listed public numbers will be immediately visible to all users currently viewing that specific number.
- Messages received on public numbers are not private or encrypted. Users are strongly advised to NEVER send sensitive, personal, confidential, or private information to any public number displayed in the App.
- Content displayed in this section is presented as-is and is not pre-moderated or filtered by us. We do not create, edit, or verify the content of these messages.
- We reserve the right to add or remove any public number at our sole discretion, at any time.
4. Private Phone Numbers and Activation SMS
In contrast to our public service, our App offers private numbers designed for specific activation services (e.g., for registering with platforms like Telegram or WhatsApp):
- Private numbers are acquired for individual, temporary use, specifically to receive a single activation SMS from a designated third-party service.
- SMS messages received on private numbers are intended to be private to the specific user who has purchased access to that number for the duration of their use.
- While we implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to ensure the privacy of these messages, no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security. We cannot be held liable for unforeseen technical vulnerabilities or malicious third-party actions.
- Activation SMS received on private numbers are displayed only to the purchasing user for a limited, short duration necessary to complete the activation process.
- We generally do not store these private activation SMS messages indefinitely once their immediate purpose has been served or the time limit for the number expires.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We engage reputable third-party companies to perform services on our behalf, such as Google for authentication, payment processing (Google Play), and advertising (Google AdMob). These providers may access your information only as necessary to perform their functions and are obligated not to use it for other purposes.
- For Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OpenSMS, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfer: Should we be involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
- With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties when we have your explicit consent to do so.
6. Third-Party Services and Their Privacy Policies
Our App integrates with essential third-party services that have their own distinct privacy policies. We strongly encourage you to review these:
- Google Privacy Policy (covers Google Authentication, Google Play, and Google AdMob)
- We do not control how these third-party services collect, store, or process your data once it is transmitted to them.
7. Data Security
We are committed to protecting your information. We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures, including encryption and access controls, designed to safeguard the personal information we collect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights and Content Removal
You have certain rights regarding your personal data. Depending on your jurisdiction, these may include the right to access, update, correct, or request deletion of personal information associated with your account. If you are the legal owner of a public number listed in the application or believe any content displayed publicly violates your rights, please contact us promptly to request removal.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal obligations. Any updates will be reflected by changing the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after updates signifies your agreement to the revised Privacy Policy.
10. Legal Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties of any kind. We disclaim all liability for any damages or losses arising from your use of the App, including damages resulting from third-party content, data misuse, technical interruptions, or the success or failure of activation services for private numbers.
